Ending hunger in our community
Over the past years,the Redeemers Food Bank has delivered over 2.5 million pounds (1.13 million kilograms) of food to various communities in Alberta. This includes fresh produce, non-perishable items, and essential supplies for maintaining a healthy diet.
The impact of the Redeemers Food Bank is measured by the number of individuals and families it has assisted. In the past year alone, the organization has reached over 10,000 individuals with 1,000 families benefiting from the monthly supply of perishable and non-perishable food items that include canned goods, frozen meat and chicken. These beneficiaries consist of diverse demographics, including children, seniors, low-income households, and individuals facing challenging circumstances.

The contribution of the Redeemers Food Bank goes beyond the provision of food. The organization has secured significant financial support through partnerships with donors and sponsors. In the last fiscal year, the Redeemers Food Bank has raised and utilized over $1 million (CAD) to fund its operations, initiatives, and various community programs. These funds have been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach and ensuring sustained impact.
The Redeemers Food Bank is committed to sustainable practices and minimizing food waste. The organization has implemented innovative solutions such as food rescue programs, which redirect surplus food from retailers, donors, and restaurants to needy people. Through these efforts, the Redeemers Food Bank has rescued and distributed approximately 250,000 pounds (113,000 kilograms) of food that would have otherwise gone to waste.
Although we do our best, we still need more than the food we give. That’s why we rely on donations from individuals, corporations, and stores to join us in the fight against hunger.
